Maybe you and your loved ones are some of the many that have been hit hard by this economic fiasco. Odds are someone you know has been laid off – it might even be you. I’ve talked to many people who’ve told me they are so thankful to have a job, but feel like their heads are on the chopping block every single day.

	The unemployment rate is the highest it has been since 1983.  And the rate is continuing to rise.  Across the United States, people are filing into the unemployment line at a frightening pace.
	Washington Mutual, Indy Mac, Ameribank and 41 other savings banks have been taken over.  In many cases doors locked, workers thrown out... only to become boarded up memorials to Wall Street’s arrogant and greedy ways...
	Analysts predict more than 1000 banks total will fail over the next 5 years. That’s over 950 more to go…  Clearly this ain’t over yet!
	Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae and AIG have been bailed out by politicians determined to...  And now companies from other industries are cutting in the government bread line.  Don’t our lawmakers realize that bailouts do nothing to help the vast majority of American citizens struggling to get by?  WE ARE ON OUR OWN!
	Bear Stearns, Lehman Brothers, and Merrill Lynch all went out in a blaze of shame, prompting the two remaining investment banks – Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs, to get on their knees before Congress and beg for help in exchange for so-called “regulatory oversight”.
	Spiraling cost of living coupled with layoffs, cut backs, and downsizing have left many families choosing between food on the table, paying the utilities, and gas to get to work – if they have a job.
	Remember how Countrywide dominated the mortgage industry... yet fell like a house of cards at the first stiff breeze – along with 150 other lenders just in the last 14 months!

The painful and startling truth is that no one is safe now... everyone is frantically trying to figure out how to guard their reserves, increase their income, and protect their families till things turn around…

OK, so we know there is doom and gloom. It’s obvious that the economy is hurting. There are those who are struggling right now. And things may well get worse before they get better…

And I’m not going to insult you by saying that the recession doesn’t exist, I know that some business people want to take that stance, but I’ve talked to too many people who have suffered a financial blow to bury my head in the sand!

But there are some CRUCIAL FACTS that news reporters, television anchors, and even those so-called “financial experts” just don’t share. And I sure don’t know why. Maybe they simply don’t know it, maybe they believe that “good news is no news”, or maybe they just want to keep it all to themselves.

Because knowing these truths will change the way you look at everything. Stay with me for a moment and you’ll see what I mean…

First, a recession happens when the business and financial models that were allowing us to prosper stop producing the same results. There are any number of reasons this can happen. The point is… What was working isn’t working anymore - And we suffer an economic downturn.

However, this is America and – I promise you - our economy is not going to fail. While they may have slowed down, the wheels of our great nation will not come to a grinding halt! Like most everything else in life, the economy is cyclical – it rises and it falls. You can rest assured it will turn around.

Remember, no one flipped a recession switch. Although it might feel like it to some, this didn’t happen overnight. In fact, the tide began to turn years ago.

Look at the proof:

	The U.S. unemployment rate started to quietly inch up in early 2007.
	The first whispers of bank failures surfaced in late 2006.
	Since early 2004, government regulators have been trying to fix Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.
	Homeowner complaints of shady dealings at Countrywide began rushing in as early as March, 2005.
	Consumer confidence began to show signs of slowing back in 2006.

If you knew where to look, the writing was on the wall. The tide began to turn and overtime things started going in the opposite direction.

A lot of good it does to know that now, right?

Well, Let Me Share Some GOOD NEWS!

The turnaround is starting the exact same way. The momentum is building and better times are on the way. You probably won’t see it in the headlines just yet, but I guarantee you it is happening. People are beginning to adjust and to find new paths to prosperity.

I’m not saying everything will change tomorrow or even that those dang news people won’t still be shouting about the end of the world. But I do believe we’ll all be breathing a sigh of relief real soon. The American Dream is NOT a thing of the past.

In fact, for some people there hasn’t been a slow down at all. “Economic downturn” isn’t even in their vocabulary. Mega successful entrepreneurs who don’t care what’s on the evening news, what the indicators show, or even what the financial forecasters predict. So, on the day we reached that goal, I ran home feeling on top of the world, chomping at the bit to share with my wife, what we had accomplished. I barely got in the door before I started telling Beverly everything. But as I stood there recounting each step, it became real obvious that something was wrong.

She told me that two of our best friends, Deborah and Mark, had both gotten “pink slips” that day. Now we’ve known them since before we were married. They are like family to us. Our kids grew up together and still hang out too. Both of them had worked for the same company since forever. Heck, work is where they first met.

When Debbie and Mark called to tell us the news, they were both still in shock. Neither of them had any idea they were going to have the rug pulled out from under them. They had pretty much devoted their best years to one company and had been proud of it too. Now they both heard, “Sorry. It’s nothing personal.”

And to add insult to injury, they didn’t even hear it from their boss or the CEO… In less than five minutes, the head of human resources – someone they barely even knew - took their family’s lifestyle from six figures to zero. AND there was NOTHING THEY COULD DO. Wow, talk about feeling helpless and out of control.

So sharing everything with Beverly was bittersweet. We both felt the same way, full of gratitude that we didn’t have to worry about facing a similar challenge, but there was also a bit of guilt for having so much when some our best of friends were left scrambling to pay their bills - riding a financial and emotional rollercoaster takes the joy out of everyday life.

Walk This Way

The four of us got together a few days later, after they had time to let everything sink in. During our visit, I started suggesting ways they could create an instant cash flow - so there wouldn’t be such a drain on their savings. Even though they knew the abundance our business has brought us, it was still hard for them to believe that they could use the same strategies we use and make money online.

But after spending time trying to get their resumes done, pouring through help wanted ads, and hearing job hunt horror stories, they were open to giving it a try. Especially since they didn’t have to shell out much money to get started. Neither of them used the Internet for much more than email and surfing, but I promised them that really didn’t matter.

We wrote out an action plan with 9 simple steps to get them started (and they were really starting at square one). Also, I helped them decide on a market to target, sharing with them my belief that they would be more successful if it were something that interested them. They knew they could call on me any time and I’d be checking in to see how things were going.

Just about every day I’d shoot Mark an encouraging email. Most times I’d get a positive line or two back, but if I didn’t hear from him for a couple of days, I’d get him on the phone to see what was going on. It might take a word or two of advice or some coach talk, but they kept moving forward. It took them about three weeks to finish the list and both of them were blown away when the sales started coming in.

Look, I won’t tell you they made $50K their first day or any crazy claims like that. These are Salt of the Earth people who discovered how to create an income using only their life experience and expertise at a time when they really needed it most. And when we first started brainstorming, they never even believed it was possible.

But in less than six weeks, they were singing a whole different tune. Imagine how gung ho you’ll be when you’re handed a step-by-step money making action plan that ACTUALLY MAKES YOU MONEY! It didn’t solve all of their problems overnight, but they proved to themselves they could repeat the steps in another market - and do it again and again and again. And, they’ve have done it too!

Before the end of last year, they were bringing in enough money that Debbie was able to rip her resume to pieces and put her job hunt to rest. Mark found a new job last fall and they moved back to his hometown in Oklahoma – something they never thought they could do unless they both found jobs there first. And their goal is to have him quit his day job BEFORE the anniversary of the lay off.

Talk about SWEET JUSTICE! I know they felt pretty good when they realized that losing their jobs was the best thing that could’ve happened right then, don’t you? Mark said they paid a visit to that company before they headsed out of town and they strutted a bit when they walked out the door.

If 1 Feels Good, Then 100 Feels Great

Working directly with Mark and Debbie was an eye opening experience. At that point I had provided help to many others through my businesses, worked one-on-one with real estate investors, and consulted with numerous corporations.

But that was the first time I saw what a difference I could make spending time with someone face-to-face… Giving them the information, motivation, and direction they needed to completely change their life. And then, actually seeing their new found joy and confidence once they grabbed control of their financial future and let go of the “employee mindset”.

It was a natural high and I wanted another fix!

That is how the first Blueprint To Financial Freedom came about. I could have kept directing my attention to helping people one-by-one, and that would have been fine too. But with all of the suffering and strife in the news, I needed to take massive action to get massive results!
